Day 1 : Casablanca to Rabat.
We will start our Morocco 12 days tour by visiting Casablanca. We will take you to visit the mosque of Hassan II, the only mosque that none Muslims can enter. After that, we will take you to discover the old Medina and the Cornish.
Our second stop will be Rabat. Firstly, we will visit the Chellah and Hassan mosque or tower. Secondly, we will visit Oudayas and have a walk in the old Medina. Overnight will be in one of Rabat’s hotels.
Day 2 : Rabat to Tangier.
On the second of our Morocco itinerary 12 days tour from Casablanca, we will head the road to Asilah and Tangier. To start with, we will make a stop at Asilah’s old Medina and beach. Thereafter, we will drive to Tangier, we will not only visit Hericle’s cave but also Cape Spartel and the museum of the American legation. Also, we will wander around the old Medina before we check-in the hotel.
Day 3 : Tangier to Chefchaouen.
We will drive across Tetouan around 3h to arrive to the water falls of Akchour. After that, we will drive to Chefchaouen, the blue city of Morocco. You will have some free time in Chefchaouen after you check in the hotel.
4rd day : Chefchaouen – The Roman ruins of Volubilis- Meknes – Fes
After breakfast, feel free to wander in the beautiful alleyways, of the blue city Chefchaouen. Then we drive to visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. It is well preserved, as it is recognized as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. It has many beautiful mosaics scattered here and there, along with ancient pillars and archways. After strolling in the ruins, we drive 30 km to visit Meknes. The Ismaili capital and one of the imperial cities. In which we visit Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, the granary and finally, the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Then we head to Fes. Overnight stay in a Riad.
5th day : Fes sightseeing
We dedicate the day to explore the Highlights of Fes with a local guide. The city is one of the imperial cities, besides being the cultural and religious center of Morocco.
Firstly, we start the day by visiting the Royal Palace gate. Then the well preserved medieval Medina, that is listed as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. You will visit the Blue gate or Bab Boujloud, the entrance of the old Medina. You will enter the Medina to visit The Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine fountain, the Tanneries. And finally the Quaraouin mosque and university, the oldest university in the world. After that we leave the Medina to visit the Jewish quarter also known as “the Mellah”. In the afternoon, we drive to an ancient fortress for panoramic view of the Medina and the city of Fes. Finally, return to your Riad.
6th day : Fes – Ifrane – Cedars forest- Midelt – Ziz valley – Merzouga Sahara
After a warm breakfast, we drive south through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane. The city is famous for its low temperature, snow and the alpine-style architecture houses. No wonder it is called the Switzerland of Morocco. Then the tour continues to cedars forest, where the Barbary macaques live. Feel free to feed them, while wandering in the forest. Later, we continue to Midelt, where we will have a free time for lunch. Then we drive to Merzouga through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the Ziz valley. Stops will be made along the way for panoramic views.
In the afternoon, we reach the Sahara desert of Merzouga. Then you switch to camels and cross the sandy desert. You will make a stop on top of a high dune to enjoy the sunset. Finally, you continue to the desert camp. You will enjoy the Berber drums music, while dancing around the campfire, under the vast open sky of stars. Dinner and overnight in the camp.
7th day : Explore Merzouga region – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga lake – Erg Chebbi – palm grove
Wake up early in the morning is a must do, in order to contemplate the beautiful sunrise, in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast. Then you return on camels to Merzouga, where the driver awaits. We dedicate the day to explore the region of Merzouga. The area has so many incredible sites, from sand dunes, wild lake, mines, fossils areas to fabulous oases. Which are ideal places for so many outdoor activities.
Firstly, we start our journey in Merzouga, by driving off-road to visit an ancient eyeliner mine. Then we pay the nomads a visit, in their handmade woven tent. Learn how they live while drinking a Berber tea. Our next destination is the Khamlia village, where you will enjoy the Gnaoua music, and dancing performances. Its inhabitants are originating from the sub-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan, and Niger. Free time for lunch in a restaurant. After that we take a stroll in a palm trees grove. Then drive a few kilometres to see the wild lake of Merzouga, also called flamingos lake. Dinner and overnight In a hotel.
8th day : Merzouga Sahara – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
After breakfast, we leave the desert to visit Rissani town, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani still a major trading center in the region, with a large lively souk ( Traditional market ).
After a stroll in Rissani Souk, we continue to Erfoud, where we visit one of the workshops of fossilized marble. Then we drive through Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves, to reach the Todra Gorges. The course of Todra river has carved out a grand red cliff-sided canyon through the mountains. These gorges are an ideal place for rock climbers. Feel free to wander in the gorges and appreciate the beauty of the landscape. Free time for lunch in a restaurant. Then we continue to the Dades valley, through Boumalne Dades. Inevitable stops at the “monkey fingers” rock formation. And on a spot atop a mountain overlooking the Dades valley. Finally, dinner and overnight in a hotel.
9th day : Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Palm Groves of Skoura – Ouarzazate Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah- Telouet – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
After breakfast, we continue our trip to Kalaa Magouna, to visit the Rose valley. A Rose Festival is held annually in May. Where the locals offer their rose products. We then drive through the palm groves of Skoura. Later, we reach Ouarzazate, also known as the gate of the desert. We will visit the studios, in which famous movies were shot.
We depart to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A fortified village recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Furthermore, the Kasbah has appeared in many movies including : Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy…etc. And in TV series including Game Of Thrones. Then we continue to Marrakech. Driving through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, and the High Atlas Mountains. Stops will be made for lunch, and to take pictures at interesting spots. Overnight stay in a Riad in Marrakech.
10th day : Guided Tour sightseeing Marrakech
After a warm breakfast, we will be exploring the Highlights of Marrakech with a local guide. The city is considered one of the four imperial cities in Morocco. The visit includes the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Quranic mosque. And a stroll in the largest traditional souk in Morocco. Free time for lunch near the Jemaa El-Fna square. Later on, you visit the Koutoubia mosque the largest in Marrakech, and the Majorelle garden. Finally, transfer to your accommodation. Feel free to wander in Jemaa El-Fna on your own.
11th day : Marrakech – Essaouira
After breakfast, we drive west to Essaouira city. On the way we will make stops to see the Argan trees goats, and also for panoramic views. We reach the Essaouira city, formerly Mogador, one of the important coastal cities in Morocco. The city is famous for the diversity of seafood, beautiful beach and surfing sport. We will visit the fishing port, the ancient ramparts with cannons, and also the old Medina. Finally, transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay in Essaouira.
12th day : Essaouira – Casablanca
In the last day of your 12 days morocco discovery tour, we depart from Essaouira and head to Casablanca. Stops will be made for panoramic views. Finally we reach Casablanca airport. End of the tour.
